Here are our answers to the most frequently asked questions about fairylights and our service.

Why should I hire your fairy light backdrop?
The most compelling reason is we don't use inferior filiment fairy lights in our fairy light backdrop systems. Our fairy lights have the latest LED technology and our LED fairy lights are certified and compliant to AS/NZ 4417.1-IP44 rated. We use quality draping so your LED backdrop will look amazing. We don't use lightweight backdrop supports that are prone to falling over and we always use power protection and put your safety first. Why compromise and use anything else?

Can I DIY and save money?
Yes, of course. We have a range of DIY fairylight systems available for weddings and corporate use. Easy to errect and everything provided.

Can I just hire the fairy lights?
Yes. Of course.

Where are you located and what are your hours?
Fairy Lights Direct is based in central Auckland CBD and is a subsidiary of www.partyhire.co.nz Our showroom is based in Northcote, North Shore, Auckland. Just 2 minutes over the harbour bridge going North from the city.

How does the hire work?
Just like any other hire item you will be asked to sign a general hire agreement. We ask for one proof of indentity (drivers licence is fine). We will charge a small bond to cover minor damage or late return. You are liable to make good any damage at replacement cost if damaged or lost whilst on hire to you.

Are your fairy lights and rigging insured?
Not whilst it is in your care. You need to arrange insurance for loss or damage or check that it is covered by your 'House and Contents' insurance policy.

What if I can't put the system together when I get to the venue?
We don't know of anyone who can't put this system together who has hired it. However, we are on hand to guide you through if you are not sure. Just phone us.

Where's your pick up locations?
Northcote or Auckland CBD. Whichever location suits you.

Can you do the whole thing for me?
Yes. We can deliver, set up and pack down after your event.

Can I use your backdrop support system for just material?
Yes. Our drapery backdrop system consists of telescopic upright poles and drapery cross bars. They are customised to hold drapery (backdrop curtains) as well as a lighting system if required. Ideal for any kind of backdrop for a stage, head table or screening off an area in a venue. Ideal for themed parties where you want to theme an area.

Do you hire other party hire items?
Yes. Fairy Lights Direct is a subsidiary of www.partyhire.co.nz We specialise in event hire and helium balloons. We hire designer centrepieces for corporate events and generally have lots of cool party hire items for rent.
